The first track written of my second string quartet. I had two goals in mind:

1-Write a string quartet with the driving riffage of a classic heavy metal instrumental (Iron Maiden's "Losfer Words" was my model)

2-Write in a classical sonata form where I used meter (the underlying beat pattern) in the same way classical masters used key areas. Thus, the secondary theme is in the less "stable" meter of 7/8 and the development goes through a wild ride of shifting meters. In the recapitulation, the 7/8 section is restated in the 6/8 opening meter of the primary theme.
