Matthew H Schwarz uses his background as a folk and rock musician to compose classical music that is ‶approachable . . . for classically trained musicians, metalheads, and a general listening audience alike″ (Brutal New Music). His compositions have been performed by the Castle Rock Orchestra in Colorado, flutist Victoria Heath and harpist Anna Cameli in London, and Oren Fader's guitar ensembles in the greater NYC region. He holds a Master's in Music Theory from the University of Colorado, studied composition at Montclair University, and has studied flute, harp, voice, and viola da gamba.
“Schwarz's String Quartet is playful, fun, and an entertaining listen . . . the work is equally as enjoyable for the performers, an important aspect when searching for repeat performances, which Schwarz's String Quartet No. 2 certainly deserves.” - Brutal New Music Reviews
