This movement focuses on a lyrical melody over a repeating ostinato. The ostinato itself originated as a "space rock" idea written for a song called "The Star Viking." While the first two movements used meter as an alternate classical "key area," this one simply uses a prog-rockish meter alternating measures of 6/8 and 8/8 (with the 8/8 bars themselves wavering between 3+3+2 and 4+4 feels).
